Privacy

What this site collects.

Not much. There are no accounts or ads, and what you type into the tools stays in your browser.

Visit counts

I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and visits. It reports which pages were viewed, the site that linked to them, the visitor’s country, device type, browser, and operating system, and how quickly pages loaded. I see totals, not individual visitors. Cloudflare says it uses no cookies or local storage for these counts and doesn’t fingerprint visitors by IP address or browser.

Hosting and security

Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and browser details with each request so it can deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. It also runs an automated check that tells people from bots, and it may set a cookie, cf_clearance, to remember the result. Cloudflare’s privacy policy covers this.

What stays in your browser

The process builder keeps your answers in the open tab. If you turn on “Remember my process on this device,” it saves them in this browser’s storage on your device, and “Erase saved copy from this browser” removes them. Downloads and backups are created in your browser. The weight calculator runs entirely in your browser too. Neither tool sends what you enter to me or anyone else.

The newsletter

Subscribing takes you to the newsletter’s signup page, which my email service provider runs under its own privacy policy. The link tells the newsletter that you came from this website. If you reply to an issue, I read it, and I quote or name you only with your permission.
